See customer feedback
Read what guests say after their visit, and turn on the satisfaction survey that collects it.
After a visit, Dineout can email your guest a short satisfaction survey. The answers show up on the Feedback page.
Turn on the satisfaction survey
Open Analytics settings
In Settings, open Analytics. The page is called Online Tracking.
Switch on the survey
Turn on Send satisfaction survey to your customers? in the Satisfaction Survey box.
Save
Save the page.
The Analytics settings page is available in the reservation app (and take-away). You need the Restaurant permission to change it.
When the survey is sent
Dineout sends the survey the day after the visit. It is sent only when:
- the booking was marked as completed,
- the booking has a valid email address, and
- the survey was not already sent for that booking.
The email asks three simple questions and has a Give feedback button.
The survey is a feature that not every company has. If you open Feedback and see a message that the feature is unavailable, ask Dineout to switch it on for you.
Read the feedback
Open Feedback in the Customers area. At the top right, choose the period: Yesterday, Current Week, 7 days, 14 days, 30 days (the default), 3 months, 6 months, 1 year or All time.
The page has two parts:
- A list of answers on the left. Each one shows the guest's name, a star rating, the average score, the date and the start of their comment. If nothing came in, it says No data for selected time period.
- Charts on the right: Average Rating, Average Segmented Rating (atmosphere, service and food), and bar charts of Service Rating, Atmosphere Rating and Food Rating.
Ratings are out of 5.
Click an answer to open it. You see:
- the Food Rating, Atmosphere Rating and Service Rating, the guest's comment (or No comments) and Total feedback,
- the guest's email and phone number,
- the booking: Name, Guests, Arrival Time, Status, Source, Table Count and Notes.
To see who can open Feedback, see the Customers Reports permission in Find and manage your customers.
