Set up kitchen and bar printers
Add printers in the POS app, choose where they print and decide which items go to which printer.
You can print order tickets in the kitchen and at the bar from the POS app. You add the printers on a POS tablet. Then you choose, for each item, where it prints.
Add a printer in the POS app
Open Printers
In the POS app, open Settings, then Printers. Saved Printers shows the printers you already added.
Search
Under Discovered Printers, click Search. Printers that are on and connected are listed. A printer that is already saved isn't shown. If none are found you see "No new printers found".
Pick your printer
Click the printer in the list.
Fill in the details
Give it a name if you want one. You can tick Private printer (only this device can use it), Use as receipt printer and Use as cash drawer. Fill in Copies to print if you need more than one ticket.
Choose where it prints
Click Printer destinations and tick one or more of Kitchen 1 to Kitchen 4, Bar 1 to Bar 4 and Ticket. Click CONTINUE.
Add the printer
Click Add printer.
Each saved printer shows Private or Shared, its name and model, its destinations and whether it is a Receipt printer or Cash drawer. A shared printer can be used by other POS devices. A cash drawer is always private.
To remove a printer, click its remove button and confirm "This will remove the printer altogether".
Choose which items print where
Set this on each item in Dineout Partner.
Open the item
Open the item in your products.
Choose the printer destination
Under Printers, choose a Printer destination: Kitchen (main), Kitchen (2), Kitchen (3), Kitchen (4), Bar (main), Bar (2), Bar (3), Bar (4) or Same as parent.
Optional: choose a printer section
Choose a Printer section if you want the item on a separate ticket. The options are Starter #1 to #3, Main #1 to #3 and Dessert #1 to #3.
Sellable items should normally not use Same as parent. Items that can't be sold alone, such as options, should normally use it.
The names match: Kitchen (main) prints on the printer with Kitchen 1, and so on.
Ticket settings
In Settings, open POS Settings. Under Printers you can switch on:
- Print each course on a separate ticket.
- Group equal lines into a single line on a ticket.
- Group categories, with Create category groups or Edit category groups, and Cut between category groups.
- Print a queue counter on all tickets. It resets to 1 after a Z settlement.
These settings are not shown for service companies.
