Dineout Help Center

Roles and permissions

What Manager and Staff users can do, and how Read, Write and Publish work for each area.

Every user has a role, and Staff users also get permissions for each area of Dineout Partner. Dineout sets these for you. See Add or remove a user.

Roles

RoleWhat it means
ManagerHas all permissions by default. Dineout only has to assign the extra ones.
StaffHas only the permissions that are ticked for them.

There is also an Admin role. It belongs to Dineout staff, not to your company.

Read, Write and Publish

Each area has up to three boxes.

  • Read: the user can see the area.
  • Write: the user can change things. Ticking Write also ticks Read. Unticking Read also unticks Write.
  • Publish: the user can make changes live for customers.

Not every area has all three boxes. A box that doesn't apply is greyed out.

If your company uses Time Punch, a Time Punch group is also shown with Users, Timers, Report, Load days and Settings. Each has a Read box. It is only shown when Time Punch is turned on for your company.

Gift card and clip card permissions are separate and are set in those products. Changing the list above leaves them alone.
