Flexible and scheduled services
Understand the three availability types and when to use each one.
Every service has an availability type. It decides how customers pick a time. You choose it when you create the service.
The three types
| Type | What the screen says | Use it for |

| Flexible | Allows booking of any service within available hours. | Most services, such as a haircut. The customer picks any free time in the staff member's working hours. |
| Flexible Multi Resource | Allows booking of any service within available hours, but requires multiple resources. | Services that need more than one staff member or room at the same time. |
| Scheduled | Allows booking of specific services at defined scheduled times. | Classes or sessions at fixed times with a set number of places. |
On an existing service the type is shown as a small label. The code shows no way to change it there.
Flexible Multi Resource
Open the service and find Availability Type. Fill in:
- Required number of staff
- Required number of rooms
Scheduled services
For a scheduled service you set the times on each staff member or room, not on the service.
Open the staff member or room
In Resources, open the person or room. The resource must have the Scheduled availability type. See Add staff and rooms.
Add the service
On the Services tab, click Pick services and select the scheduled service.
Add the times
On the Availability tab, find the service under the location and click Add.
Set start, end and capacity
Set Start and End for each slot and Guest capacity, the number of places. Use the plus button to add more slots in a day.
Save
Click Save.
If no services are assigned yet, the Availability tab says "No services are assigned to this resource".
Repeating slots and group bookings
Turn on Advanced Scheduling to repeat the slots, for example every week. On the Exclude dates tab you can skip days.
Guest capacity is how many guests can join one slot. This is how you run group sessions: several customers book the same slot until it is full.
Scheduled and Scheduled multi slot
When you open a slot, you can choose an Availability type of Scheduled or Scheduled multi slot.
A scheduled service can't use variations that include other services.
