Take payment when customers book online
Choose whether customers pay, pay half, or give a card for a no-show fee when they book a staff member online.
You can ask customers to pay when they book online. You choose this for each staff member or room.
Choose a payment type
Open the staff member
Open the staff member or room you want to change (see Add staff and rooms). Stay on the Info tab.
Pick the Payment Type
Under Payment Type, choose one option. The hint says: choose what type of payment method should be used for your online ordered appointments.
- None: the customer doesn't pay when booking.
- No show fee: the customer gives a card when booking. You can charge them if they don't show up. See Handle no-shows.
- Pre-payment: the customer pays when booking.
- Pre or partial payment: the customer can pay in full or pay half.
Pick a billing profile
Under Billing profile, choose the profile for this staff member's orders, or No billing profile.

What the customer sees
The payment type applies to appointments booked online. Appointments you book yourself in the calendar are not covered here.
- With Pre or partial payment, "partial" means half of the price (the code charges half of the total).
- If one booking uses several staff members, the strictest type wins: Pre-payment first, then Pre or partial payment, then No show fee.
- Gift cards and clip cards can't be used together with No show fee. Gift cards can't be used with a partial payment.
- With No show fee, a company that uses a debt-collection (Inkasso) provider may offer the customer a way to book without giving a card.
