Send a payment link
Email or text a guest a link to register a card for a no show fee or to pay in advance.
A payment link lets a guest register a card or pay on their own phone. Use it when you take a booking by phone or when a guest forgot to pay.
Send a link from an existing booking
Open the Payment tab
Click the booking, then click the Payment tab.
Choose the payment
Choose a Payment type: No show or Pre payment. Choose how long the guest has with Booking expires in. Fill in Fee per guest. The total is the fee times the number of guests.
Send it
To send by text, check Customer's mobile and click Send. To send by email, check Customer's email and click Send. A Send button stays greyed out until the number or email is valid and the fee is filled in.
You see Payment link successfully sent.
Send a link when you create a booking
In the new booking form, click Send payment link. Choose Payment type, Send with (Email or SMS), Booking expires in and Fee per guest (at least 1). Then click Save. The guest gets the link instead of a normal confirmation.
This button only shows when your company has a payment provider connected, and only for new bookings. See Create a booking.
How long the guest has
Booking expires in can be Never, 1 hr, 3 hrs, 5 hrs, 12 hrs, 24 hrs, 3 days, 5 days or 1 week. If the guest doesn't act in that time, the link expires.
Payment link history
The right side of the Payment tab shows Payment link history, newest events as they happen:
- Payment link sent for no show, or for pre payment, with the total amount.
- Expired.
- Card Registered.
- Paid No-Show or Paid Pre-Payment, with the amount.
It says No payment history if nothing has happened yet.
If the guest has already registered a card or paid, you see Cannot send payment links because the customer's card has already been registered or charged instead of the form.
