Use the booking monitor
See today's bookings live as a timeline, list, room view or calendar, and filter them by time of day.
The booking monitor is where you run your day. It shows every booking for one date and updates while you work.
Open Monitor in the top menu. The page is called Live bookings and opens on today.
Move between days
Use the arrows on each side of the date to go back or forward one day. In the calendar view the arrows move one month.
Click the date itself to open the Calendar panel on the left, then click any day to jump to it. Click Go to today in that panel to come back.
Choose how to view bookings
Use the View as buttons at the top right. Hover over a button to see its name.

| List | Bookings grouped by arrival time, with status, tables and notes. |
| Rooms | Your tables as drawn in your floor plan. Use the Floor plan drop-down to switch room. |
| Calendar | A month view with bookings, guests and no shows per day for each room. Click a day to open it. |
On a phone, only the timeline and the list are available.
Show lunch or dinner only
In the timeline and list views, use Time of day to pick All day, Lunch or Dinner. The counters at the bottom follow this choice.
Dineout uses 11:00 to 16:59 for lunch and 17:00 to 02:00 for dinner, unless your location has its own lunch and dinner times.
What you see at the bottom
- The day note. Click it to add or change a note. See Daily notes and printing.
- The statuses used by bookings on this day, with their colours. See Booking statuses explained.
- The number of bookings and guests in the current view.
Panels on the left
The side bar has four buttons. Click one again to close it.
- Calendar: pick a date, see the rule and override for the day, a summary of the day and the bookings list.
- Bookings: every booking of the day by arrival time.
- Waiting: the waiting list. See Use the waiting list.
- Settings: Online booking closures, Booking settings, Opening hours, UI Settings and Print.
Live updates
The monitor stays connected to Dineout. When a booking is made or changed, a message at the bottom says Bookings today have been updated. Click the refresh button in the message to reload the day. If you are looking at another date, the message offers a Today button instead.
Bookings that a guest has started online but not finished (status Hold) are not counted in the list and are greyed out in the timeline until they are completed.
