Printing options for kitchen tickets

Choose how kitchen and bar tickets print, with separate tickets per course, grouped lines, category groups and queue numbers.

These options change how tickets print for your kitchen and bar. You find them in POS Settings, under Printers.

The first three options apply to the internal tickets for the kitchen and bar. Queue numbers apply to all tickets.

Open POS Settings

Open POS Settings and find the Printers section.

Turn on the options you want

Switch on the options below.

Save

Save the page. The POS app picks up the change when it fetches settings again.

The switch is called Print each course on separate ticket. Each main item in the order gets its own ticket. If a main item has a quantity of 3, you get 3 tickets. The tickets are numbered like 1/3, 2/3 and 3/3.

Some items can be set to print once for the whole quantity, so they do not get a ticket for each unit.

Group equal lines into a single line

Group equal lines into a single line on a ticket combines identical lines on a ticket into one line with the total quantity.

Group categories

Group categories prints the items under headings, one for each category group you create. Groups print in the order you set. Items that are in no group print last.

When this is on, two more things appear:

  • Edit category groups (or Create category groups if you have none). It opens Category Groups. Click Add Group, give it a Name, choose its Categories and click Save.
  • Cut between category groups: when on, the printer cuts the ticket between groups. When off, all groups print on one long ticket.

Print queue counter on all tickets gives each new order a queue number. The number is printed in large type on every ticket, including customer receipts, and shown on the order in the POS app as Queue order. The counter starts again at 1 after a Z report.

See End of day: Z-settlement.
