Pause online orders when it's busy

Slow down or stop online orders with Rush Hour, blocked times and a maximum number of sales per time slot.

When the kitchen is swamped, you can stop some order channels for a while, block times on a day, or cap how many orders each time slot can take. You do all of this on the Live orders screen. Each setting is per location.

Use Rush Hour

Rush Hour pauses chosen order channels for a set time. It switches itself off when the time is up.

Rush Hour is only shown to users with the Rush Hour permission.

Open the settings

Go to Monitor, then Live orders. Click Settings in the left bar.

Open Advanced settings

Click Advanced settings. Scroll to Rush Hour.

Activate Rush Hour

Switch on Activate Rush Hour.

Choose what to block

Tick the channels to stop: Block Takeaway Web orders, Block QR web orders or Block Kiosk orders. Tick at least one.

Choose how long

In Expires after, pick a time from 15 minutes up to 3 hours.

Save

Click Save. Dineout shows "Rush hour activated".

While it is on, the header shows an orange label, "Rush Hour Active Blocking", with the blocked channels and the time left.

To end it early, switch off Activate Rush Hour. Dineout shows "Rush hour deactivated". When it ends by itself you see "Rush hour expired and was automatically deactivated."
