Turn on sound alerts for new orders
Play a sound when a new order arrives on the Live orders screen, and fix it when your browser blocks the sound.
Dineout can play a sound when a new order arrives, so you notice it even if you are not looking at the screen.
Turn the sound on
Open the settings
Go to Monitor, then Live orders. Click Settings in the left bar.
Switch it on
Switch on Play sound for new orders.
Save
Click Save. Dineout shows "Updated settings".
The sound only plays while the Live orders screen is open. The setting is saved on the browser you use, so turn it on again on each computer or tablet.
If you hear nothing
When the sound is on, Dineout tests it a moment after the screen opens. If your browser blocks it, a window opens called Issue with sound notifications. It says some browsers need you to interact with the page before they play sounds.
Click Try again
Click Try again. If the sound plays, you see "Sound notifications are working".
Read the message
If it still fails, the window shows the error from your browser. Check the sound is not muted for the page in your browser or device settings.
Close the window
Click Close to carry on without sound.
