Use the kitchen view
Show orders to the kitchen as tickets, tick off items as they are made, and finish orders.
The kitchen view is a screen for the kitchen. It shows each order with its items, and staff tick items off as they are made.
The kitchen view is only available to companies with the Kitchen Display feature. Other companies see a message that the feature is unavailable.
Open the kitchen view
Go to Monitor, then Kitchen View.
New orders show up on their own. The screen shows "Connected to kitchen updates" when it is live.
Active and completed orders
The tabs at the top are Active Orders and Completed. Each shows a count.
Use the buttons at the top right to switch between Grid view and List view, and to enter or leave fullscreen.
Finish an order
Tick the items
Tap an item to tick it. Tap it again to untick it.
Wait or finish at once
When every item is ticked, the order header turns green and says "Ready to serve". A button shows Mark as completed with a countdown of 30 seconds.
Order moves to Completed
After 30 seconds, or when you click Mark as completed, the order moves to Completed. If you untick an item during the countdown, the order stays in Active Orders.
What an order card shows
The title is the table name or "Order" and the number. Below it you see when it was ordered and how long it has waited ("Has waited"). A tag shows Pick up at, Delivery expected at, Online order, Kiosk self service or In house. Customer comments show in yellow. Each item shows its quantity and its choices.
Choose which orders you see
Open Settings at the bottom of the left panel:
- Location: the location to show.
- Destination: which printer destinations to show, for example Kitchen Main or Bar Main. You must keep at least one. An item goes to the destination set on the item. See Create and edit items.
- Source: which orders to show, such as POS, Online / Takeaway, App, Wolt, On site, Kiosk or Manual. Empty means All sources.
- Show waiting time on orders: shows "Has waited" on each order.
- Show name on order: shows the customer's name.
These choices are remembered on this browser.
Left panel
The panel also has the Waiting time and Delivery time buttons, and a Current Summary that adds up the items in the orders you see. See Set waiting and delivery times.
On a tablet
On narrower screens (about 1300 pixels wide or less) the kitchen view fills the whole screen and the left panel becomes a bar at the bottom with the same settings. It adds Show summary and Show delivery time.
